BRAIN FACT: It Is Essential That Children Experience Direct Language In Everyday Life
It is essential that children experience direct language in their everyday life. Since the brain is dependent on experience, connections are made based on the vocabulary and interactive language heard in infancy through the preschool years.
It's vital that it be 'direct', meaning through an interaction with an engaged, trusted human. This is so important and so overlooked. No other substitute works. I wish this was clearly communicated to everyone BEFORE they decide to become parents. Thank you! www.BabyParentingCoach.com
Researchers have learned so much in recent years about the importance of regular, predictable, positive, and repeated face-to-face conversation, both for learning language and for healthy attachment relationships. How can we help potential parents understand this, even before their babies are born?
