There is much written on the benefits of nature for the brain. A website listing several resources and research is http://www.childrenandnature.org/research/
One article that you might enjoy, also mentions few studies on the effects of nature.

You may have seen my post on Twitter yesterday~ I learned of a hospital that now only shows nature TV because of the benefits to the brain and healing.
